There’s a new stink about the proposed Brownsboro school as officials debate who should provide sewer service to the property.

Members of Oldham County Fiscal Court will now decide whether to extend its interlocal agreement to provide sewer service to the Brownsboro school campus.

If the court decides not to provide sewer lines to the school, Crestwood Mayor Dennis Deibel said he’s prepared to annex the area into city limits and provide sewer service. 

The students at East Oldham Middle School are celebrating Red Ribbon Week with an exciting presentation by "The Seven Project." Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation reaching millions of Americans during the last week of October every year.

"This is a very unusual and bizzare case," said Judge Janice Martin Wednesday, after spending the better part of two hours trying to unravel the time line of Donna Claggett's life.

Claggett, of Goshen, was charged in August with theft by deception by the Oldham County School system.

She is accused of owing the county $24,000, because someone else enrolled their child at Liberty Elementary in 2004 and used her address.

Planning and Development Director Jim Urban became the voice of Oldham County on Thursday.

Well, at least to those residents who complain the school board doesn’t listen, moves forward on projects regardless of the community’s feelings and generally does what it wants.

Urban is a member of the Local Planning Committee for the school district. The committee met Thursday to vote on changing the priority level of the Brownsboro school, which would allow the district to use nearly $2 million in state funds for the project.
