  • SOHS teacher’s play debuts tonight

    If you’re a student at South Oldham High School, you probably know him as Mr. Watson. But if you visit the Bunbury Theatre in the next few weeks, you’ll see the results of his own homework assignment.

    Adam Watson’s play “Occasional Poisonings from the Kitchen” is one of four in The Honest Abe 23-minute Play Festival opening today (Thursday) at the Bunbury Theatre.

  • Oldham’s Engineers of Tomorrow

    In the early nineties, one man, an inventor named Dean Kamen founded For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, an organization designed to create a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes. There are three FIRST robotics teams in Kentucky. Team number 2783, Engineers of Tomorrow, is based in Oldham County, and has been working since May on various machine shop projects to gain experience for their rookie competition season.

  • Akers inducted into Transy’s leadership honor society

    South Oldham High School graduate and Transylvania University junior David Akers has been inducted into the Lampas Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa.

    Students apply for ODK membership in their junior or senior year. Selection is based on academic ranking, extracurricular activities and leadership roles. New members are selected by current ODK members and must pass with a 75-percent approval rating.
