La Grange teen earns perfect ACT score

An Oldham County High School student must have eaten his Wheaties the morning of the American College Testing exam.
Cory Smith, son of Tommy and Angela Smith of La Grange, earned a perfect score on the ACT, which has not been accomplished at his school in at least eight years, his guidance counselor said.

Taking a giant leap into space exploration

A Crestwood native is taking one small step toward a career as an astronaut.
Jake Gamsky, 23, a physics major at the University of Kentucky and 2006 graduate of South Oldham High School, was recently admitted to the International Space University space studies program.

A town hall meeting April 14 at North Oldham High School attracted 25 residents interested in a discussion with members of the Oldham County Board of Education.
The school board hosted the meeting, and six members of the audience signed in to address the board.
