  • OCHS grad found dead on local farm

    An Indiana man has been arrested and charged in connection to a body found on a Oldham County property last week.
    Police in Watertown, N.Y. arrested Miles J. Matthews, a 27-year-old male from Corydon, Ind., on Sunday, after he was identified as the suspect in the death of 34-year-old Adam N. Gregg, of Louisville.  Matthews has been charged with murder and theft by unlawful taking in the case.
    As of Tuesday, Matthews was still being held in the Jefferson County, N.Y. Correctional Facility after being arraigned Monday afternoon.

    The trial of a former police officer accused of official misconduct has been reset for an October date.

  • Berry given offer in abuse case

    A man accused of sexual abuse of a female minor has received a plea offer to resolve his case.

    Michael P. Berry, 36, was indicted in April on three counts of sexual abuse after being arrested by Kentucky State Police in March. Berry has denied the charges.

    According to the police report of his arrest, Berry admitted to a KSP officer that he committed sexual abuse of a female minor during a two-week period at his Oldham County home in late February.

    La Grange Police Arrests

    June 30 -- Karen M. Barnett Sparks, 49, La Grange, was arrested for alcohol intoxication in a public place (first and second offense) and assault fourth degree (domestic violence) minor injury.

     

    June 30 -- Dalton C. Cundiff, 22, La Grange, was arrested for expired registration, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, no registration, excess window tint, obstructed vision.

  • Evridge sentenced to home incarceration, probation in murder case

     

    Ronald Evridge, 59, of Westport was sentenced earlier this week to seven months of home incarceration and five years probation for the 2011 shooting deaths of Oldham County sisters Heather Fulkerson, 21, and Sandy Allen, 24.

  • Two killed in Hwy 53 crash

    Two teens were killed and another person has serious injuries after being involved in a crash at the intersection of Highway 53 and Old Sligo Road over the weekend.

    Ben Clifford, an 18-year-old recent graduate of Oldham County High School, was pronounced dead at the scene, as was Haley OKelley, a 19-year-old Indiana resident.

    The two teens were passengers with Brianna Zambrzycki, a 2013 graduate of Buckner Alternative High School, who was transported to University Hospital in Louisville with serious injuries, according to Oldham County Police.

  • Gang case down to one defendant

     

    Only one defendant remains from a case originally charged with gang activity in La Grange.

    Originally, eight individuals were charged with a litany of drug offenses and criminal gang activity, but only lesser charges for Casey Endicott, 19, of Shelbyville, remain after Keaton Lee, of La Grange, became the seventh co-defendant to take a plea deal.
