  • Mosley case delayed

    The case of a former Oldham County Police officer is being delayed as prosecutors and defense attorneys try to reach a settlement.

    Harry “Shane” Mosley is charged with official misconduct for exchanging sexual text messages with an underage teen, as well as charges relating to a DUI arrest of a U.S. Marshal Mosley is accused of covering up.

    Mosley was not present at a pre-trial hearing Thursday where prosecutors and Mosley’s defense attorney, Steve Schroering, asked for an extension as they continue to work out a possible plea agreement.

  • Judges explain state laws allowing early releases

    Frustrated by a judicial system that seems to result in a revolving door for at least one specific criminal in their town, Pewee Valley City Council members asked for an explanation.

    At their monthly meeting Monday night, council members heard from 12th Judicial District Judges Jerry Crosby and Diana Wheeler, who serve Oldham, Henry and Trimble Counties. The judges fielded questions from council members and provided a description of the criminal release process as it relates to House Bill 463.

  • Snoddy trial delayed until 2014

    The trial of a Louisville man charged with murder for a drunk-driving crash that led to the death of a Westport man will be delayed until next year.

    Nicholas W. “Nick” Snoddy was back in circuit court on Thursday for a pre-trial conference between his defense attorney, Steve Romines, prosecutors and Judge Karen Conrad.

  • Kelley indicted in hatchet murder

    A Pewee Valley woman charged with killing her boyfriend with a hatchet has been indicted by a grand jury and will proceed to a jury trial.

    Gail Kelley, 51, was arrested for murder on July 6, after police received a report of a possible murder.  At the time, Kelley told police she struck Michael T. Evans, 44, in the head with a hatchet, which was found wrapped in a bloody towel in a trash can in the driveway.

    Kelley appeared in Oldham Circuit Court on Thursday for an arraignment post-indictment.

    A Locust Grove Elementary teacher has been arrested by Oldham County Police on charges of drunken driving.

  • Johnson case sent to Grand Jury

     Cases involving allegations a La Grange man possessed child pornography and sexually abused a minor are heading to a grand jury.

    Richard Wayne Johnson, 35, has been charged with 14 counts of possession of child pornography and one count each of incest, sexual abuse of a minor and sodomy.

    A previous charge of rape of a minor was dismissed.

    Johnson appeared in court Wednesday for a pre-trial hearing on his two separate cases. District Court Judge Diana Wheeler heard testimony from two KSP detectives who worked each case of charges against Johnson.

  • Johnson Arrested Again on Sex Charges

    A La Grange man has been arrested for a second time in two weeks for offenses relating to sex crimes.

    Richard Wayne Johnson, 35, was arrested a second time last week on four charges, including rape, sodomy, incest with a minor and sexual abuse.

    Johnson was originally arrested Sept. 17 on allegations he distributed and possessed child pornography.  Johnson was released on $10,000 bond and ordered not to have unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.

  • La Grange Man Arrested on Child Porn Charges

    A La Grange man has been arrested on charges alleging he distributed and possessed child pornography.

    Richard Wayne Johnson, 35, was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 17 after Kentucky State Police served a search warrant at his home.

    Johnson is charged with two counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor and 12 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

    He was lodged in the Oldham Co. Jail and has been released on bond.
