  • Man arrested for impersonating officer

    A Louisville man is charged with impersonating a police officer and driving a Crown Victoria outfitted with lights, stripes and a siren to look like a police cruiser.
    Kevin Shook is charged with impersonating an officer and using an improper sound device.
    Oldham County Police arrested Shook Feb. 14 after learning he is not affiliated with a police or fire department.

  • Goshen man charged for deadly 2009 crash is a familiar face in Oldham courtrooms

    A Goshen man now faces a murder charge two years after a deadly DUI crash on River Road that killed an 18-year-old Crestwood woman.
    And he's no stranger to courtrooms in Oldham and Jefferson counties. His  most recent arrest in Oldham County stems from an incident in a strip-mall parking lot when police had to strike him with a Taser weapon three times.

  • Officers honored for apprehending robbers after high-speed chase

    Local residents were appointed to the following posts during the Oldham County Fiscal Court meeting Tuesday:
    •Jim Zimmerman to the Tourism Commission.
    •Stan Clark to Chief Financial Officer of the Oldham County Ambulance Taxing District.
    •Cliff Willdeboer to the Police Merit Board.

  • Decade-old death sentence overturned; judge rules man didn't receive fair trial

    More than 10 years after an Oldham County jury convicted a man of murdering his former in-laws, a circuit court judge reversed his death sentence Monday because he was denied the right to a fair trial.
    The court found that two jurors who served in the capital case of Miguel Soto in 2000 had been ineligible to sit on the jury.

  • $600K ruling against OCPD weighs heavy on budget

    A federal jury has ruled that the Oldham County Police Department discriminated against a Ky. National Guardsman in 2008 when officials cited his commitment to military service as the reason for withdrawing a job offer.

    It's a $600,000 mistake, and only half is covered by the county's insurance.

  • Alleged Kroger robbers have La Grange connection

    Police arrested a man wanted in connection with numerous bank and grocery store robberies across the state on Tuesday following a weekend robbery at the Shelbyville Kroger.
    Stewart Ray, 24, and his alleged accomplice, Gregory Mitchell, 29, both of Louisville, were arrested at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at their residence on Lunenburg Lane by Shelbyville Police.

  • Grand jury indicts eight

    An Oldham County grand jury recently handed up the following
    indictments:
    • Joshua N. Fast, 24, and Katherine J. Fogarty, 24, are indicted for theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 and theft of a controlled substance.

  • Robbery leads to police chase up, down I-71

    Two men facing robbery charges led police on a chase through Crestwood and in both directions of Interstate 71 Saturday afternoon as two children sat in the backseat.

    A burglary took place about 3:40 p.m. Saturday at Cox's Smokers Outlet on Central Avenue off Ky. 146. According to surveillance footage, one man entered the business wearing a red toboggan, red gloves and pointing a handgun at two clerks.

    Minutes later, officers spotted a Ford Taurus on Old Ky. 329 matching the description provided by employees at the store.

  • Police track FedEx shipment of marijuana to Crestwood men

    Two Crestwood men and a Pleasureville man face drug charges after police tracked a FedEx package of marijuana sent from California and scheduled to arrive at a Pleasureville home.

  • La Grange business robbed at gunpoint

    A man wearing a white hooded sweatshirt who brandished a silver handgun is wanted by police in connection with a robbery Wednesday afternoon.

    La Grange Police are investigating the report of a robbery about 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of South First Street at Cash Express.

    Employees told police the man wore a black ski mask and white hooded sweatshirt.
