A Crestwood man nicknamed "Pit Bull" who leads a Louisville chapter of a nationwide motorcycle gang known for organized crime appeared in federal court Wednesday afternoon.

Carlos Wesley Rose, a corrections officer at the Kentucky State Reformatory in La Grange, is one of 18 members of the Wheels of Soul motorcycle gang indicted last month in St. Louis.

The sentencing Monday of Joshua Fast of Crestwood has closed a sad chapter in the life of a Shelbyville family whose son was shot and killed on Brown Avenue nearly three years ago.

An Oldham County grand jury recently handed up the following indictments.
Kari Clark, 23, is charged with receiving stolen property over $10,000 and second-degree forgery.
According to the indictment, Clark allegedly retained jewelry belonging to Stan and Laura Clark between Feb. 1 and June 30, 2010, while knowing or having reason to believe it had been stolen.

A drunk driver convicted in the death of a La Grange police officer in 2003 has been released from prison eight years early for good behavior.

Gregory Lee Porter pleaded guilty to manslaughter, wanton endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident and DUI for the crash that killed La Grange Police Officer Eddie Mundo Jr. on April 16, 2003.
