  • Police service hopes for community support

     

    For the 14th year, the Oldham County community will honor fallen law enforcement officers across the U.S. in a ceremony on May 13.

    The peace officer’s memorial service will be held at La Grange Baptist Church and the ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. The chaplains involved with Oldham County law enforcement and Kentucky State Police Post 5 have organized the event every year since 2000.

    The event coincides with Police Week, held the week of May 15 every year.

  • Berry indicted, more sexual abuse counts added

    An Oldham County man originally charged with one count of sexual abuse of a minor under 16 has been indicted on three counts of sexual abuse.

    Kentucky State Police arrested Michael P. Berry, 36, on March 20, after police claim he admitted to the sexual abuse in an interview. Berry has denied all claims of the abuse in court.

    While waiting a preliminary hearing in district court, Berry was instead indicted on April 11 on three counts of sexual abuse with a minor under 16 by the Oldham Court Grand Jury.

  • La Grange police bust synthetic marijuana lab

    On Monday, La Grange Police acting on information gathered from an investigation, executed a search warrant on a residence in the 2000 block of Cherry Ridge Ct. in La Grange. Inside the residence officers located and seized several ounces of marijuana, several ounces of synthetic controlled narcotics and cash. Also seized were ingredients and equipment used to manufacture synthetic narcotics.

    April 19 -- Austin W. Neuner, 22, La Grange, was arrested for operating motor vehicle under influence of alcohol/drugs 1st offense.

     

    April 21 -- Heather Nalley, 33, La Grange, was arrested for endangering welfare of a minor (x2), alcohol intoxication public place, assault 4th domestic violence minor injury.

     

    April 22 -- Dalton C. Cundiff, 21, La Grange, was arrested for operating motor vehicle under influence of alcohol/drugs 1st offense, possession of marijuana, disregarding stop sign.

    April 14 -- David W. Turner, 32, La Grange was arreted on a Jefferson County warrant for probation violation.

    April 16 -- Derek J. Prather, 37, La Grange, was arrested for DUI, no insurance, expired registration, criminal littering.

    April 18 -- Victor V. Black, 49, Crestwood, DUI 1st; Failure to comply with helmet law; Failure to produce insurance card.

  • Crestwood Civic to host firefighters appreciation dinner

    The Crestwood Civic Club is pleased to announce that it will host the 64th Annual Firefighters’ Appreciation Dinner for the South Oldham Fire Department on Monday, April 28 at the Clubhouse located on Kavanaugh Road in recognition for the countless service hours and dedication of the many full time and part time members of the unit, as well as members of the board.

  • La Grange Fire to test hydrants

    The LaGrange Fire & Rescue Dept. will be inspecting and flushing fire hydrants during the months of April, May, June and July 2013. This will include the areas of the La Grange Utilities Water District and the Oldham County Water District.

    Water may appear cloudy or discolored immediately following hydrant flow testing. However, the water is safe to drink.

  • La Grange Police investigating bank robbery

    La Grange Police are asking for help identifying a possible suspect in a bank robbery Wednesday morning.

    According to police, the Farmer's Bank of Milton, located at 2207 S. Highway 53 was robbed at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

  • Crestwood man arrested for DUI

    A Crestwood man has been arrested again for driving under the influence, after pleading guilty to manslaughter in a 2009 crash that involved alcohol and resulted in the death of his passenger and jail time for him.

    Kentucky State Police arrested Cody File, 23, last Wednesday in Eminence on a litany of charges. Those charges include DUI 2nd, aggravated, failure to report a traffic accident, operating on a suspended operator’s license, failure to surrender a revoked operator’s license and failure to wear a seatbelt.
