Pewee Valley Police Chief Mike Losik has distributed an e-mail alert warning residents of a recent break-in.

Losik said burglars entered a Central Avenue home on the morning of May 19 and took several pieces of jewelry. Losik said the homeowners weren't home when the burglary took place. 

The driver of a vehicle that caused a double-fatal crash after crossing the median of Interstate 71 on Thanksgiving Day has been indicted for reckless homicide.

An Oldham County jury has ruled in unanimous favor that an Anchorage bank committed fraud as a Prospect couple’s land deal went awry.

And now, the bank is expected to pay hefty damages.

He told prison guards they were ankle braces.

But just before his arrest, a Shelbyville man working as a teacher at the Kentucky State Reformatory admitted to police that he had a pound of tobacco pressed, bundled and taped to each foot.

It’s a process police say James H. Petrey, 62, has repeated at least four times per month during the four years he’s worked as a teacher behind prison gates.

And the sum of his efforts is surprising – two pounds per trip, four trips per month and a price tag of $350 per pound.
