  • More arrests made in murder case

     

     

     

     

     

    Two more people have been arrested in connection with the murder investigation of an Oldham County woman whose body was found in a shallow grave on Cropper Road Nov. 23.

    Megan Elston, 24, and Bethany Nikki Thomas, 34, have been charged with complicity to first-degree assault.

  • Johnson sentenced for sex crimes

     

     

    Richard Wayne Johnson, a former Oldham County EMS employee, was sentenced Oct. 15 in Oldham County Circuit Court on charges of incest and other sex crimes.

    Johnson, of La Grange, was first arrested by Kentucky State Police on Sept.17, 2013 on charges of 14 counts of possession of child pornography. In court, KSP detectives said they found hundreds of images on Johnson’s computer and phone of young children performing sex acts.

  • Prisoner escapee caught, hospitalized

    John William Foster IV, who escaped from jail custody in Oldham County on Sept. 2, has been apprehended. However, Foster is in critical condition after shooting himself.
    A press release from Kentucky State Police said that U.S. Marshals apprehended Foster shortly after 8 a.m. on Oct. 5 in Indianapolis.
    According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Public Information Officer Christopher Wilburn, Marshals cooperated with IMPD officers in an attempt to capture Foster, whowas first sighted during a traffic stop.

  • Grubbs pleads guilty to Farmers Bank of Milton robberies

     

     

    A once-wanted bank robber pleaded guilty last week in an Oldham County courtroom.

    William Gary Grubbs Jr., 36, was indicted in August by an Oldham County grand jury on two counts of robbery in the first degree, related to robberies at Farmers Bank of Milton on Highway 53 on April 23 and again on June 1.
