  • Grubbs pleads guilty to Farmers Bank of Milton robberies



    A once-wanted bank robber pleaded guilty last week in an Oldham County courtroom.

    William Gary Grubbs Jr., 36, was indicted in August by an Oldham County grand jury on two counts of robbery in the first degree, related to robberies at Farmers Bank of Milton on Highway 53 on April 23 and again on June 1.

  • Prisoner escapee caught, hospitalized

    John William Foster IV, who escaped from jail custody in Oldham County on Sept. 2, has been apprehended. However, Foster is in critical condition after shooting himself.
    A press release from Kentucky State Police said that U.S. Marshals apprehended Foster shortly after 8 a.m. on Oct. 5 in Indianapolis.
    According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Public Information Officer Christopher Wilburn, Marshals cooperated with IMPD officers in an attempt to capture Foster, whowas first sighted during a traffic stop.

  • Accused hatchet murderer trial set

    New motions have been filed in the case of Gail Kelley, a Pewee Valley woman accused of killing her boyfriend with a hatchet.

    In a pre-trial hearing last Thursday, Kelley’s defense attorneys filed two motions in front of Judge Karen Conrad. The motions were requests for expert witnesses to be present during a deposition. 

    Conrad granted the motions to the defense, which will give the Commonwealth 20 days to respond.

  • Court update

    The end of August and September could see pre-trial conferences of a few major pending cases in the Oldham County Circuit Court.

    Gail Kelley

    Gail Kelley, a Pewee Valley woman accused of killing her boyfriend with a hatchet, was last seen at a pre-trial conference. Her trial date, originally set for Feb. 2014, was changed due to due to changes in personnel at the local public defender’s office, which represents Kelley.
