  • Kyle Andrew Mayer, 22

    Kyle Andrew Mayer,  22, of Crestwood, died Saturday, March 6, 2010.

    He was a student at University of Louisville, a member of the U of L lacrosse team and a coach for Oldham County Middle School boys' lacrosse team.

    Survivors include his mother, Kimberly Ann (Scott) Sawade; father, James (Theresa) Mayer; a brother, Jesse Mayer; a stepbrother, Scottie Sawade; grandparents, Bill and Loretta Price, Phyllis Mayer-Bartley and Michael Bartley; and great-grandparents, Gayron and Mary Ferguson.

  • Bobby Farrell Bramblett, 63

    Bobby Farrell Bramblett 63, of La Grange, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at Baptist East Hospital.

    He was a member and associate pastor of First Baptist Church of La Grange, a musician for many groups, most notably, Soul Combination, and also performed at many churches and Son of a Sailor in La Grange. Bobby was president of Millennium Productions, Millennia Studios and Bramblett Enterprises. He was also an avid fisherman.

  • Bernie Holsclaw, 70

    Bernie Holsclaw, 70, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at Norton Suburban Hospital.

    Bernie was a retired school teacher, having taught at the Hardy School in the Arlington, Mass. public school system, the Archdiocese of Louisville, and in Oldham County at Liberty, Crestwood and Camden Station Elementary schools.

    He graduated from Flaget High School in 1957, Bellarmine University in 1962, and received his master’s from Spalding University. Bernie was a member of the Flaget Alumni Association, Lions Club and the Cathedral of the Assumption.

  • Barbara Kay Hampton, 59

    Barbara Kay Hampton, 59, of Crestwood, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at her home.

    She was a member of Harrods Creek Baptist Church, a well-known local artisan and a former member of the Pride of Kentucky Chorus of Sweet Adelines International.

    Survivors include her husband, Richard; sons, Brian and Kyle; her mother, Grace Hancock; a brother, Eddie Hancock; and a sister, Vicki Mueller.

    Services will be 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday) at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood.

    Burial will take place in Harrods Creek Cemetery.

    Visitation was Wednesday.

  • Mary Ruth Seigle, 77

    Mary Ruth Seigle, 77, of La Grange, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at Baptist Hospital Northeast.

    She was retired from Suburban Hospital Environmental after 17 years.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Seigle; and a brother, Daniel Howell.

    Survivors include her son, Gary (Christine); and a daughter, Helyne.

    Services were Wednesday at Stoess Funeral Home in  Crestwood. Burial took place in Floydsburg Cemetery.

  • Linda Holder Burnett, 65

    Linda Holder Burnett, 65, of Louisville, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010.

    She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Burnett Sr.

    Survivors include five children, Teresa Lobato, James Eilman, Linda Heichelbech, Susan Wilson and Shannon Hobbs; two siblings, Faye Holbert and Wayne Holder; three grandchildren, Erika Sims, Carlos Holder Lobato and Audrey Heichelbech; two great-grandchildren; and a beloved dog, Leroy.

    Services will be private. 

    Memorial contributions may go to the Kentucky Humane Society, 241 Steedly Drive, Louisville, Ky., 40214.

  • Josephine Smith Logsdon, 82

    Josephine Smith Logsdon, 82, passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.

    She was born Dec. 17, 1927, and married to the late Jack B. Logsdon, who died in 2002.  

    She retired from her position as librarian at the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women in 1984.  She spent much of her time volunteering with the American Red Cross, The Gideons International and the Bill Glass Champions for Life prison ministry.

  • Dorothy L. Flack, 73

    Dorothy L. Flack, 73, of La Grange, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010.  

    She was a homemaker, a food service worker for Oldham County Schools, a member of Buckner Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel.

    She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stacey Wheatley; and great-grandson, Alexzander Childers.

  • Shawn Michael Ray, 31

    Shawn Michael Ray, 31, passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, in Titusville, Fla., after a four-year battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 17, 1979, in Baden, Pa. 

    Survivors include his 9-year-old daughter, Savannah Michelle Ray, and her mother Tonya Greer Ray, of Crestwood; two brothers, Benjamin Hunt of Mims, Fla. and Daniel Hunt of Port St. John, Fla.; two sisters,  Pamela Hunt of Texas and Jennifer Sypien of Canaveral, Fla.; his mother, Stanlee Hunt of Titusville; several nieces and nephews; and many friends who will miss him deeply.

  • Carol J. Kammer, 74

    Carol J. Kammer, 74, of Crestwood, passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 2010.

    She was the former Carol Wittreich.

    Kammer was the for- mer co-owner/operator of Deck the Walls frame store at Jefferson Mall and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

    Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Jack Kammer; daughter, Judy Bohannon; three sons, John J. Kammer, Jim

    J. Kammer, Jeffrey A. Kammer; and seven grandchildren.

    A funeral Mass took place Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
