    Willard “Pete” Coons Jr. 76, of LaGrange, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015. He was member of Abraham Masonic Lodge #8.  Pete was the owner of Pete Coons Auto Service and Towing.
    Survivors include his wife: Nadine Dunbar Coons; children: Leticia Hall (Mark) and Michael D. Coons; granddaughter: Samantha N. Hall; brother: Paul R Coons (Mary Ann).

    She is survived by her husband Sidney Funk, Sr.; son, Sidney Funk, Jr.; daughters, Tammy Smith (Brian), Carrie Stucker; grandchildren, Tommy Martin, Austin Funk, Nathan Funk, Weston Funk, Abbie Stucker, Brittany Smith, Zachary Smith, Emilee Carney; her beloved cousins, Phyllis McWilliams, Sharon Miller, Judy Smith and Willie Dietrich.

    Margaret Bowling, 89

    LaGrange

    Margaret P. “Margie” Bowling, age 89, passed away March 9, 2015 in LaGrange, KY. She is the daughter of the late Howard and Stella Parr.

    She is survived by her sister; Marcella Dickson .

    A service to honor the life of Mrs. Bowling was held at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at noon with visiting from 10-12 at the funeral home. Burial was at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, KY.

  • Betty (Rankin) Murphy, 72

    Betty (Rankin) Murphy, 72, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 7, 2013.

    She was born November 22, 1940 in Oldham County to the late Effie May (Harrod) and Carl Mayfield Rankin. She was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church, Young at Heart and a Kentucky Colonel.

    Betty was a retired Floral Designer at Minish & Potts, the Greenery, and the Petal Pusher. She also worked at Calihan’s Pork Processors in Peoria, Ill. 

     She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Murphy and her son Byron Michael Murphy.

  • Steven Anthony 'Tony' Stoess

    Steven Anthony “Tony” Stoess, passed away Friday morning with his daughter by his side after a valiant battle with cancer. 

    He was a graduate of Oldham County High School and had retired after 34 years from Ford Motor Company.

    He is survived by his daughter, Blake Stoess; brothers, Joe and Marvin Stoess and numerous nieces and nephews.

    A gathering of family and friends was Sunday August 11, 2013 from 1-3:30pm at Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood. A memorial service and an inurnment followed in Floydsburg Cemetery.

  • Ellen Thompson Patterson, 45

    Ellen Thompson Patterson, 45, of Crestwood passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013, at her home.

    She is survived by her husband, Troy; and son, Nathan.

    Services were Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 11am, Stoess Funeral Home. The body was buried at Floydsburg Cemetery.

  • Patricia Smith Wilhoyte

    Patricia Smith Wilhoyte peacefully passed away at her residence in Oldham County on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 where she resided for over 40 years. 

    She is survived by her brother, Michael L. Smith (June); niece, Kelly Schmale; nephew, Anthony Smith; five great nephews; one great niece; as well as several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

    Services were Saturday August 10, 2013 at 11am, Stoess Funeral Home. The body was buried at Harrods Creek Cemetery.

  • Hubert 'Harold' Gross Jr., 70

    Hubert “Harold” Gross, Jr., 70, of La Grange passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013.  

    He was the former produce manager at the old Crouch’s Grocery in La Grange, a member of American Legion Post 39, La Grange Assembly of God, a lifetime member of L&N Fishing Club and a United States Army veteran.  

    He is preceded in death by his parents Hubert H. (Sr.) and Lula Montgomery Gross and a brother, George Michael Gross.

  • Ricky Lynn Gayhart, 58

    Ricky Lynn Gayhart, 58, of La Grange passed away on July 4, 2013.

    His survived by his mother, Jessie Leet; father, Fred Gayhart; brothers and sisters, Clifford (Betty) Walling, Dorothy (Larry) Shaub, Larry (Kathy) Walling, Paula (Ed) Yochum, Carol Richards, Rebecca (Tim) Warren; lots of nieces and nephews; son, Christopher Gayhart; daughters, Angela Darden and Leslie Blizzard; and twelve grandchildren.

    Cremation arrangements were handled by Richardson Funeral Home, Owingsville.
