    For as long as he can remember, Milt Toby has always been involved in some aspect of the horse industry. Intending to become a veterinarian, he eventually decided upon a different course and began writing about the horse racing industry.

  • Have you ever wondered about the people who heard Jesus speak and didn’t believe? They saw him heal the blind and said it was from Satan. They saw him heal the lame and they said he did it on the Sabbath. He raised Lazarus from the dead and they said he must die. How can you stand in front of the Son of God, see him do unbelievable miracles and not believe? That is the power of sin. We all struggle with it all of our lives.

  • Tess Gerdemann just returned to North Oldham High School after spending the fall semester as U.S. Senate Page appointed by Sen. McConnell. On her first day of service on the Senate floor she witnessed the Senate debate on Syria; she worked all night during Sen. Cruz’s filibuster; and she witnessed the daily back and forth among the Senators as they wrestled with the budget issues and government shutdown. Gerdemann is pictured with U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell.

    It’s hard to argue that fate didn’t intervene in the lives of John and Renee Rothschild.

    The Rothschild’s story begins in one of the darkest periods of human history, the Holocaust. This time of persecution under the Nazi Regime inadvertently lead to the meeting of two people whose love for each other saved them.

  • Who shall be saved? Who are the elect that will spend eternity with God? How much does God know about who will be saved and who will be lost to hell? How much free will do we actually have?

    One option is Universalism, which means everyone will be saved. This has the broader application that all religious roads lead to heaven. One can find individual verses that seem to support this belief like John 3:17, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

  • Skylar Stark, daughter of Patricia and Jonathan Stark, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Kentucky Pageant to be held may 9th and 10th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Louisville. This pageant is held for girls ages 4 through 6. The winner will receive a $1,000 cash award, a crown and banner and air transportation to compete in the national pageant at Disneyland in California.
