  • Engagement: Vetovitz-Roe

    Judy and Stan Vetovitz of Crestwood announce the engagement of their daughter, Michelle Murray Vetovitz to Lance Martin Roe, of Youngstown, N.Y.

    The bride-to-be graduated from South Oldham High School in 2007, then Indiana University with a bachelor of arts degree in communications and marketing. She is employed as a senior media buyer at Butler/Till in Rochester, N.Y. She is currently pursuing an MBA.

  • Gubernatorial Appointments

    Governor Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

      • Karen T. Barry of La Grange as a member of the State Police Personnel Board. She will serve a term expiring June 19, 2019.

  • PRESS RELEASE: Baptist Health volunteer program president retires

    The Era recieved a marvelous press release about a local resident who spent 18 years as a hospital volunteer before recently retiring. We present it here in full for our readers. 

     

    When Alta Haunsz decided to go to nursing school in 1948, she probably didn’t expect to be actively involved in a hospital setting 67 years later, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • Ertel - Aberli ENGAGEMENT

    Jessica Ertel and Jason Aberli announce their recent engagement. Jessica is the daughter of F. Joseph and Suzette Ertel of La Grange. Jason is the son of Donald and Sue Aberli of Louisville. Their wedding date is Oct. 3 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The reception will be held at Sawyer Hayes Community Center in Louisville.

  • Anniversary Celebration

    Wendell and Betty Burrows Moore recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. The were married June 11, 1954 at Sligo Baptist Church. The couple celebrated June 9 at Key West Shrimp House, Madison, Ind.

  • Deibel birth

    Claire Maria Deibel

    Jenny and Karl Deibel announce the birth of their daugther, Claire Maria Deibel.

    Claire arrived at 7:08 a.m. April 11 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.

    She weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 20 inches.

    Grandparents are Chris and Mark Lubbers and Richard and Sue Deibel.

  • Celebrating five generations

    Five generations of Rivera’s got together recently to celebrate their family starting with Carmenza Rivera and ending with infant Clairabella Miller, born on April 18. From left to right they are Tamara Stevenson (third generation), Rivera, Corey Miller (fourth generation), his wife, Elaina, and daughter, Clairabella, and Rivera’s daughter, Maria VanAuken (second generation). All of the family is from La Grange.

  • Engagement: Harris - Green

    Tracy Harris and Chris Green of Louisville announce their engagement. Harris is the Director of Communications for Oldham County Schools, while Green is sales territory manager and marketing manager for Bohnert Equipment. Harris is a graduate of Spencer County High School and the University of Louisville. Green is a graduate of St. Xavier High School and West Virginia University. Harris’ parents are Robert Harris of Taylorsville and Tina Conder of Whitesville. Green’s parents are Johann Green and Janet Kanziner, both of Louisville. They will be wed August 23 in Anchorage.

    Ms. Gay Parrish of Crestwood is pleased to announce the engagement of her son, Cory Parrish, also the son of the late William Parrish, to Danielle Doane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Doane of New Castle.

    The future groom is an elevator technician with Oracle Elevator. The bride to be graduated from the University of Kentucky and is employed at the Rawlings Company. A May wedding is planned. Invitations have been sent.
