Toy story with national headlines has happy ending

A church in Ballardsville made headlines across the nation recently after boxes of donated toys fell off a pickup truck.
A Good Samaritan found 12-15 boxes of toys Dec. 12 on Ky. 53 between Ballardsville and La Grange, and as police searched for clues about the intended recipient, newspapers and TV stations in several states took notice.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church hosts potluck suppers during Advent

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will host potluck suppers and services during the Advent season at 6 p.m. Dec. 8 and 15.
Dinner begins at 6 p.m. and services begin at 7. The church will also host a gala service at 7 p.m. Dec. 24.
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is located at 2416 S. Ky. 53, La Grange.

St. Francis in the Fields announces holiday services

St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church recently announced upcoming events.
At 10:15 a.m. Sunday in Graves Hall, the church will host a presentation on preparing yourself and your family for Christmas.
The presentation will be offered by Katherine Doyle, seminarian intern. At 5 p.m. Sunday is “Evensong” in the sanctuary.
