     The Oldham County History Center will be hosting an archaeology investigation from 11 a.m. to  2 p.m. on Sunday, May 22. This is a continuing investigation at the Gatewood Plantation, located outside of Bedford in Trimble County.

  • NAMI class offered

    The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will offer a Family-to Family education program at La Grange Baptist Church, 1139 Commerce Parkway in La Grange, beginning Thursday, Aug. 27 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

    The class is a free, 12-week course for family caregivers of individuals with severe mental illnesses. The course, which is taught by trained family members, also provides all instructional materials and course materials.

    The South Oldham Rotary Club is hosting their Fourth Annual South Oldham Rotary Bourbon & Wine Tasting on Friday, Aug. 21, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at beautiful Yew Dell Gardens located at 6220 Old La Grange Road in Crestwood.  

  • Heilman places wreath

     World War II Marine veteran Dr. E. Bruce Heilman, who recently completed his 6,000-mile motorcycle ride to kick off the “Spirit of ‘45” national commemoration of the end of WWII in August, returned to Louisville on Sunday, June 21, to place a wreath at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery.

    Hermitage Farms in Goshen will be the scene of the Hermitage Grand Gala, a star-studded Derby Eve party this Friday, May 1.

    The party is a joining of Laura Lee Brown and Steve Wilson, founders of 21c Museum Hotels, and Junior Bridgeman, President of Bridgeman Foods.

  • Derby fashion show raises money for American Heart Association

    Baptist Health La Grange got a jump-start on spring at the 4th Annual Hats for Hearts Derby Fashion Show and Hat Extravaganza earlier this week.

    Hospital employees will modeled the latest spring fashions provided by Dress Barn Springhurst, as well as employee-designed Derby hats.

    The hospital’s American Heart Association Walk Team hosts the event and funds earned from Derby hats sales will go to the Heart Walk. Closed bids will be accepted on the Derby hats starting the day of the event through noon on March 27.
