  • Boo Dell at Yew Dell

    Trick-or-treaters enjoyed an early treat Saturday at the annual BooDell at Yew Dell Gardens in Crestwood. Local organizations and businesses handed out candy and games and activities were available to all the children who attended.

  • Arts on Quality Place

    Artwork of all kinds was on display at the annual Arts on Quality Place show, hosted by the Arts Association of Oldham County and the Oldham County YMCA.

  • Annual Arts and Crafts show keeps Pewee Valley hopping

    St. Aloysius, Pewee Valley Presbyterian and St. James Episcopal churches welcomed a host of shoppers to a combined Arts & Craft Fair Saturday in Pewee Valley, giving them a chance to peruse hundreds of booths from local craftspeople and artists. The event, a collaborative effort of the churches and the Pewee Valley Women’s Club, benefits the clubs community service projects and scholarships to local high school seniors.

     

  • Arts on Quality Place returns to Buckner YMCA

    A number of favorite St. James Court Art Show artists will be selling their works at the up and coming Oldham Arts on Quality Place show Oct. 24-26.

    La Grange community leaders and volunteers are working together again this fall to create and promote Downtown La Grange as the regional hot spot for trainspotting and bluegrass music.

  • Valero grand opening

    Valero will be celebrating its grand opening in Crestwood Aug. 1. Jodi, the new store manager, has been a part of Crestwood for 26 years and is excited about celebrating her grand opening with her hometown community. Valero and its vendors will have great deals and free products such as free fountain drinks, popcorn and popsicles for the kiddos. Valero is located at 6600 W Hwy 22 in Crestwood.

  • Beauty pageants, new rides the draw for county fair

    It’s the golden anniversary of pageantry in Oldham County and this year’s fair is preparing for big crowds, smiles and prizes.

    The first pageant will be held for the crowning of Miss Oldham County at 7:30 p.m. on July 29. Each girl will have the opportunity to receive a $500 prize to go toward higher education. This will be held after the opening night ceremony with Brandy Neeley, former American Idol Contestant, singing her rendition of the “National Anthem.”

  • Registration open for Hillcrest Youth triathalon

    The Hillcrest Youth Association will hold the Sixth Annual Youth Triathlon August 16 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Two hundred athletes will compete in swimming, biking and running in the Hillcrest Neighborhood. Participation is open to the public for youth ages 4-16 as of Aug. 1, and is $40, plus a $10 one-day USAT certificate. No training wheels are allowed.

    Registration is open now at www.active.com. There will be no late registration or registrations on the day of the race.
