Youth wrestlers win honors

CRESTWOOD – Local junior wrestlers closed their season with six state titles two weeks ago in Louisville. The South Oldham junior club brought home four titles while the Oldham County junior club brought home two. All told, 32 wrestlers placed in the top four headed up by 26 from South Oldham which placed fourth in the state as a team. Bringing home titles for South Oldham were Jacob Lacey at 117-pounds, Shane Wilson at 70-pounds, John Shirkey at 85 pounds and Nick Herbert in the 130-pound division. The Oldham club was led by twin brothers Max and Brady Emerson. Max won the 112-pound title and Brady took first at 80 pounds.
