Wild, wild west

Never in a million years did I think I’d risk my life on behalf of The Oldham Era, but that’s what I did Saturday during a Wild West festival presented by Christian Country Cowboy Church.
Feeling out of place in my University of Louisville T-shirt, I saw bonnets and cowboy hats, boots and chaps, spurs and leather vests in the crowd gathered at the Oldham County Fairgrounds.
They looked like they’d just stepped off a John Wayne movie set. I felt the disapproval of their eyes, or so I thought, as I made my way to the first station.
