Western Bookbinding: Sew You Want to Make A Book?
Saturday & Sunday, November 17 & 18, 1-4pm
With artist, Rebecca Burke
In this 2-day workshop, students will learn the basics of Western bookbinding. On day one, students will start by sewing pages together to make a book block, glue the pages together and learn how to cut binder’s board and attach it to their book block to form the “insides” of their book. A 90-minute break is included.
Then on day two, students will learn the delicate process of attaching fabric spines and Japanese papers to finish off their fabulous creation. Students will go home with a 40-page, approximately 4” x 6” book. Class fee: $100 includes all supplies, fabric for spines and paper for covers. Class limited to four (4) students.
