Despite a 15-point outburst from guard Trevor Burton, North Oldham couldn’t find a way past visiting Elizabethtown, dropping a 50-45 contest to the Panthers. No other North Oldham player cracked double-digits.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
PLEASURE RIDGE PARK 69,
OLDHAM COUNTY 66
Welcoming Oldham County to the south end of Louisville, the Pleasure Ridge Park basketball team was an unkind host, outscoring the Lady Colonels in the final quarter 29-18 to claim a narrow 69-66 win.
Several Oldham County players made impacts in the game but none was more important than junior guard Ashley McMurtrey, who scored a game-high 29 points, while senior Jessica Leanhart added 16 points as well to pace Oldham County.
The Lady Colonels will return to their home court 7:30 p.m. Dec. 28 as they host Atherton in the Oldham County Holiday Invitational.

VALLEY 49,
NORTH OLDHAM 48
Trailing host Valley by 10 points heading into the final quarter of their Dec. 14 game, the North Oldham Lady Mustangs went on a tear in the final eight minutes, clawing their way all the way back to a tie at 48-48 with 1.6 seconds remaining. That wasn’t enough though as the Lady Vikings picked up a big free throw from senior center Dayshawna Harris to ice the game.
Senior Taylor Moore was a bright spot for North Oldham, recording 28 points — including 11 in the fourth quarter — in the losing effort.
The Lady Mustangs return to the floor 7 p.m. Dec. 20 against St. Mary as they travel to Western High School for the Western Holiday Classic.
