Two charged in shooting death of La Grange man

Two men are charged with the shooting death of a La Grange man Feb. 1. 

La Grange Police responded to a 911 call at 9:24 p.m. Feb. 1 where a shooting took place. Upon arrival at Creekside Apartments in La Grange, police found a white male, James E. Bailey, 33, dead at the scene. 

La Grange and Oldham County police are conducting a joint investigation. LPD Officer Scott Wolf said the case is being investigated as a burglary and homicide. 

LPD and OCPD officers – with assistance from Kentucky State Police and Louisville Metro Police – arrested two men Feb. 4 as a result of the investigation into Bailey’s death.

Jason E. Parr, 25, and Raymond M. Carrion II, 27, are housed in the Oldham County Jail.

Parr is charged with first-degree burglary, murder and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. 

Carrion is charged with first-degree complicity to commit burglary, complicity to commit murder and two counts of first degree wanton endangerment. 

Bond is set at $2 million for both Parr and Carrion. 

They were arraigned Feb. 4 and were scheduled to appear in court again Feb. 11.

Wolf said Oldham County Dispatch records show police visited Bailey’s residence Oct. 20, but the visit is  – an incident Wolf said is unrelated to Bailey’s death. Creekside Apartments are located off Ky. 53 and Yager Avenue in La Grange.

Officials at the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy Feb. 2 and confirmed Bailey died of a gunshot wound.
