‘Meeting halts with banging of gavel, police escort’

Let me see. The mayor wants to hire a man charged with DUI and that is suing the PVA.

He rents from her and yet she sees no conflict of interest? She pays him and he pays her. It sounds like a course in ethics might be in order.

‘Weapons sales soar after election, dealers expect Obama will bring stricter gun control’

I, personally, don’t wish to own an assault rifle, but I don’t think any government should tell me what type of firearm I can own. The assault rifles are not accurate weapons and do not have a place with a true hunter or sportsman. We have too much interference in our private lives as it is.

President-elect Obama is from a high-crime area and should realize that the criminals in Chicago don’t buy their weapons, they steal them or buy them illegally.

Mr. Gray states that a law-abiding citizen should be able to buy whatever he wants…why not crack cocaine, nuclear arms or anthrax. As long as you are law abiding citizen it never hurts to have some of those lying around just in case.

Mr. Laws’ comment about a hunting rifle killing you deader…I didn’t realize there were degrees of deadness or pregnancy. He also states that “men buy guns like women buy shoes” is a bit troublesome. Given the choice, I choose to deal with an angry woman swinging her flats or even stilettos than facing a good ‘ole boy with an AK-47.

There are no scare tactics here, the reality is there is a run on guns and that is what is being reported.

I feel sad for you if you believe law abiding citizens can not be trusted to own items you don’t believe in. Obviously you are not a sport shooter or you would know of the thousands who compete yearly with sporting semi-automatic rifles and hundreds of thousands more who share time with like-minded sport shooters. You should be more tolerant of others’ lifestyles.
