In Pewee Valley, the city throws the proverbial Yule Log on the fire to celebrate the holidays.

The annual Pewee Valley Yule Log celebration will be held on Dec. 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in and around the town hall, where the bonfire will be set.

In the town hall, visitors can enjoy chili and refreshments while they listen to the Oldham County Singers or watch the Terpisichore Dance Company perform. Throughout town, businesses will open their doors and serve refreshments as well.

Santa is set to arrive in the town hall at 6 p.m. to spend time with the little ones, while four-legged children can go to the veterinarian’s office to have their pictures taken with the Grinch.

It’s a free event for all and a Pewee Valley tradition that has been in place and unchanged for many years.

“We’ve purposefully kept it the same as many years ago. It’s a special time for the community to come together,” said Pewee Valley City Councilmember Bethany Major. “It’s a chance for the city to say thank you and spend some time celebrating with the residents of Pewee Valley.”
