Former La Grange City Council member Jason Taylor was appointed Monday night to replace Wally Nay.
Nay announced his resignation Jan. 28, and cited an ischemic stroke as his reason for stepping down.
Nay joined La Grange City Council in 2007, and residents re-elected him in November for a second term. He served as La Grange police chief, and also served as Oldham County Sheriff for more than 17 years.
Taylor served on Council from 2004-10, but was not re-elected last year.
