Following is an account of action from the North Oldham Little League from the past week as received by The Oldham Era:
MINOR LEAGUE TOURNAMENT SEMIFINALS
ASTROS 4, TWINS 0 - Winning pitcher Seth Russell and Austin Berger combined to throw a five-hit shutout and pace the Astros to the tournament win.
Trevor Sanders led the Astros’ offense with a double.
Jacob Bates took the loss with relief from Jeremy Renner.
Will Horner led the Twins with a triple.
Shane Liddell and Caan Thornsberry had doubles for the Twins.
MAJOR LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
ROCKIES 3, RED SOX 0 - Winning pitcher Anthony Johnson and reliever Tyler London combined to strike out 17 batters and threw a one-hit shutout to pace the Rockies to the win.
They also led their team at the plate with Johnson tripling and London doubling as the Rockies scored all their runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Zac Haswell took the loss and had a triple for the Red Sox.
He got relief help from Clay Jennings.
YANKEES 3, DODGERS 1 - The Yankees got two-runs in the top of the ninth inning to score the extra inning win.
Drew Rochet and Tanner Hennings both doubled to lead the Yankees’ offfense.
Jesse Bradshaw had a triple for the Dodgers.
Aaron Renner and Jaxon Matz both doubled.
