By John Foster

Health officials confirmed that a 41-year-old Oldham County man contracted the H1N1 virus earlier this month.  His symptoms began May 3, and he has since recovered, Oldham County Health Department Public Information Officer Chad Lynch said. The man received treatment at Norton Immediate Care Center for mild symptoms including fever, cough, runny nose and shortness of breath.  Health officials say the man hadn’t traveled out of the country recently. There have been 13 cases of swine flu confirmed in the state, including four in Jefferson County, with the most recent case confirmed Monday, according to http://healthalerts.ky.gov.  No one in Kentucky has died from the flu. Information from the Kentucky Department for Public Health advises residents to wash their hands frequently, avoid sick people and stay home from work or school if sick.   E-mail us about this story at: jfoster@oldhamera.com
