-A A +A

The James Graham Brown Foundation announces that Ajit Deshpande, from Gatton Academy has accepted an invitation to the Brown Fellows Program Class of 2018. Ajit will join 19 other incoming college freshmen chosen for this prestigious, individualized development program. The Brown Fellows are a group of diverse, high-achieving undergraduate students who build leadership skills, a global perspective, and strong ties to their local community and the state of Kentucky through the program. This year’s class is composed of students from six states. The selection process is rigorous. Brown Fellows are selected based on scholastic achievement, intellectual leadership, visionary thinking, exemplary community involvement, and strong promise for future success.

The Brown Fellows Program is unique as a single initiative that spans two campuses. In partnership with Centre College and the University of Louisville, Brown Fellows receive full tuition, room and board, funding for two extraordinary enrichment experiences and travel internationally as a group after freshman year. In June, Ajit and other members of this year’s incoming class will participate in a leadership retreat led by The LeaderShape® Institute as well as a group service project. Ajit will attend the University of Louisville and join a community of 20 Brown Fellows alum and 80 current Brown Fellows, split evenly between the campuses.
