A statue called the “Circuit Rider” now represents past, present and future clergy members on the grounds of the Kentucky Annual Conference Center of the United Methodist Church in Crestwood. The center hosted a dedication Aug. 28. Rev. Julie Hager Love, director of connectional ministries, said the Circuit Rider was a preacher who rode a horse to reach people living in isolated places on the frontier. In the United Methodist Church, Love said there is still an appointment system that moves pastors from place to place, serving more than one church.
