St. Francis high-schoolers raise money to rebuild school in China

Throughout the school year, students in St. Francis High School’s Sichuan Earthquake Relief Community Service Group have worked to raise money to rebuild an elementary school destroyed by the May 2008 earthquake in Sichuan Province, China. St. Francis students, led by Chinese language teacher Bob Jones, have organized bake sales, a school dance and a film event to benefit the reconstruction of the Xiang-E Primary School near Dujiangyan, the hardest-hit region in Sichuan. The construction project positions the school as a model for green design and energy efficiency.
