The South Oldham Rotary Club had the pleasure of honoring the October Students of the Month at their Nov. 8 meeting.
Brittany Copeland is a senior at South Oldham High School and participates in the Junior Guard at the Arvin Center. Instructor Master Sergeant Tim Anderson described her as a self motivator when introducing her to the club. Copeland plans to continue her education at Western Kentucky University, Jefferson Community & Technical College or the University of Louisville with a goal of obtaining a degree in theatre and technical design (specifically in lighting and sound design). In her free time, you’ll find her participating in the Civil Air Patrol or working with the Red Cross.
When South Oldham High School Counselor, Denis Beall introduced the second student, Benjamin Frazier, a senior at South Oldham High School, he said that he was a “well rounded student that excelled in the classroom.” The University of Kentucky, University of Colorado Boulder and Oregon State University are among the schools under consideration for Frazier, with the University of Kentucky topping the list “because they’re offering more money.” His career goals are to become a mechanical or chemical engineer participating in mission work. Outside of school you’ll find Frazier playing soccer, acting, or doing woodworking or welding.
