The South Oldham Rotary Club recently honored the club’s students of the month for December. Daniel Gregory Stoess is a senior at South Oldham High School and attends the Oldham County Career Center. After attending University of Northwestern Ohio, Ohio Technical College or Lincoln Tech, Stoess plans to be a mechanic either at his own hot rod/speed shop or to work on exotic cars. In his leisure time, Stoess is active in Boy Scouts and is working to become an Eagle Scout. Garrett Patrick Shields is a senior at SOHS. Shields plans to attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham or the University of Louisville and his career goal is to become a doctor, possibly with Doctors Without Borders, after completing undergraduate biomedical engineering studies and medical school. At SOHS, Shields is a member of the drum line, a member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, KYA/KUNA with Diplomacy Club and the senior advisory board.
The students received a framed certificate, presented by Vocational Services Director John Longstreet.
The club meets at 7:30 a.m. every Friday at the Oldham County Arts Center, Crestwood.
