South Oldham grad vocalizes through his Masters

 Jacob Pence, a 2003 South Oldham High School and 2007 University of Evansville graduate will receive his master’s degree in vocal music performance from Ohio State University in June.

During his time at the University of Evansville, Pence studied under Dr. Jon Truitt and performed in many school operas and choir productions as well as with opera programs in Florida, Colorado, Wisconsin and Kentucky, and received his bachelor’s degree in vocal music. Obtaining a Fellowship at Ohio State, Jacob has been pursuing his master’s degree while also working as a teaching assistant, giving voice lessons, and performing in several operatic roles with OSU including The Magic Flute.  He also landed roles with Opera Columbus in their two most recent productions The Pearl Fishers and Turandot.   His final master’s performance will be the lead in the Ohio State Main Stage Opera production of The Marriage of Figaro May 29-30 at Mershon Auditorium on the OSU campus.
