SOHS FCCLA group visits Frankfort

-A A +A

On Feb. 11th, students across the state of Kentucky met at the state capitol in Frankfort for Student Leadership Day.

South Oldham High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members attended the event, which was led by student leaders from Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs).

The event involved an assembly at Frankfort High School Gymnasium where students were taught about the legislative process as well as how to properly address and meet with their legislators. There was also a rally held in the Capitol Rotunda, where government officials talked about how their experience with CTSOs and Career and Technical Education helped them get where they are today.

SOHS students met with Senator Ernie Harris to discuss the importance of CTSOs and Career and Technical Education, how it influenced the students’ lives, as well as thank Senator Harris for his support.

Throughout the day hundreds of students met with their legislators to discuss important topics such as these.
