Shooting leaves La Grange man dead

A shooting reported Monday night at a La Grange apartment complex left one man dead.

La Grange Police responded to a 911 call at 9:24 p.m. Sunday where a shooting took place.

Upon arrival at Creekside Apartments in La Grange, police found a white male, James E. Bailey, 33, dead at the scene. 

La Grange and Oldham County police are conducting a joint investigation. LPD Officer Scott Wolf said the case is being investigated as a burglary and homicide. 

Wolf said Oldham County Dispatch records show police visited Bailey’s residence Oct. 20, but the visit is  – an incident Wolf said is unrelated to Bailey’s death. Creekside Apartments are located off Ky. 53 and Yager Avenue in La Grange.

Officials at the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy Monday and confirmed Bailey died of a  gunshot wound. 

Arrests were made early this morning (Wednesday) in the case. LPD and OCPD officers, with the assistance of Kentucky State Police and Louisville Metro Police, arrested two men as a result of the investigation into Bailey's death.

Jason E. Parr, 23, and Raymond M. Carrion II, 27, were arrested and are lodged in the Oldham County Jail.

Parr was charged with first-degree burglary, murder and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. Carrion was charged with first-degree complicity to commit burglary, complicity to commit murder and two counts of first degree wanton endangerment.
