Schools, county set rates

-A A +A
By The Staff

In recognition that money is tight for many Oldham County families this year, members of the Oldham County Board of Education avoided taking the maximum tax rate increase allowed by law at its meeting Aug. 25. Oldham County Fiscal Court also held its tax rate at the same it has been for three years — 9 cents. State law allows for a 4 percent increase in revenue a year — without considering new property — without the chance of a recall vote. Without considering new property, revenue generated by the new tax rate will remain about even to last year for the school district.
