The three finalists for the Oldham County Schools superintendent’s position will participate in a public forum tonight (Thursday).

The finalists include Houston Barber, principal of Fern Creek High Traditional High School; Lisa Stone, director of school improvement for Montgomery County Schools; and William Wells, assistant superintendent of instruction for Oldham County Schools.

The superintendent screening committee had selected a fourth finalist, Owens Saylor, but he has since accepted a superintendent’s position in another district.

The committee consisted of six people who evaluated applications from 18 candidates over a two-month period.

School board members will now review information from the committee, conduct their own interviews and participate in the forum.

Residents can submit questions for the forum in advance on the school board’s website, www.oldham.k12.ky.us.

Each candidate will be allowed an hour to respond to questions.

The forum is at 6 p.m. April 18 at the Oldham County Schools Arts Center and is open to the public.
