Fresh off redrawing school attendance boundaries, the members of the Oldham County Board of Education are redrawing their lines too.

The member boundary lines are redrawn every 10 years and the new lines should help balance out inequities in the current boundaries, according to the board.

The biggest adjustment will come from a policy change that states prison populations will no longer be counted, like they were in the previous redrawing of member lines. The board has not yet taken action on the new map, but brought it up for discussion at its December meeting.

The board also discussed dates for the 2014-2015 school calendar at its December meeting, but will not take action on the calendar until February.

Opening day for Oldham County Schools has been tentatively set for August 20, 2014. This date was chosen based on construction for the expansion at Oldham County Middle School.
