Are you a senior or do you have a senior who is planning to go to college in 2008? Does the student reside in Oldham County? Would the student like a chance to win a scholarship to help with college expenses? Oldham County Dollars for Scholars is a 3-year-old non-profit organization and already has 30 sponsors who offer scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000. By submitting only one application and one essay, a student can apply for about 10 scholarships. If the student wants to write two or three essays, they can apply for more than 10 scholarships. If they don’t want to write any essays, they can still apply for 2 or 3 scholarships.Applications can be downloaded from the organization’s website www.ocdfs.org. Under the scholarship application tab, click on “application form.” Because the application form changes slightly every year, it is only available on line from Jan. 1-March 1. To learn more about Oldham County Dollars for Scholars go to www.ocdfs.org or call the chapter president, Judy Vetovitz, at 241-3162. Volunteers and donations for new scholarships are welcome.
