Runners fight intense heat

Welcome to the 30th annual Oldham County Festival YMCA Sweat-fest! That’s the best way to describe the annual 5K run and one-miler that took place Friday.

It’s just doggone hot in La Grange this time of year. The turn out of runners and walkers was impressive. As of this writing, I don’t have an exact count, but there were a whole lot of people sweating through the course down Allen Lane to Commerce Parkway – up the hill into La Grange – then beside the train tracks on Main Street to Kentucky Ave.
