The county’s road superintendent has resigned in the midst of an investigation into the misappropriation of materials during his tenure, Oldham County Judge-Executive David Voegele announced.

Lance Lashley resigned last Friday, Voegele said in a statement, after being put on paid leave on April 2 after allegations arose that Lashley had misappropriated materials from the road department.

Voegele asked Oldham County Police to investigate and the matter is still ongoing, Voegele said.

But at this point, nothing uncovered in the investigation could be prosecuted as a criminal defense, County Attorney John Carter said.

Voegele previously declined to identify the allegations against Lashley, who did not return a call.
