Reunion in Kuwait

As Paul Scoskie describes it, the chances of his sons crossing paths while on the job is very slim.

But on April 1, U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Cpl. Zach Scoskie and U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Sam Scoskie met in Kuwait.

Zach, a 2004 graduate of North Oldham High School, and Sam, a 2006 NOHS grad, are the sons Paul and Julie Scoskie of Goshen.

Sam is an airman first class crew chief on C-130s out of Dyess Air Force Base on active duty with the 317th. He is scheduled to return to Texas in July. Sam plans to join the Kentucky National Guard after active duty and is considering finishing college at the University of Louisville.

Zach is a corporal with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Alpha Company Military Police, based in Lexington and currently attached to 3rd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment from Camp Lejune, N.C., serving in Anbar Provine, Iraq.

This is Zach’s second deployment and he is slated to return home in November. He attends U of L.
