Come to a Rain Garden Workshop on Saturday, March 29, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Oldham County Cooperative Extension office. Learn how to build a rain garden in your yard. Rain gardens are a way of using plants and soil to hold storm water runoff from your roof, yard, or surrounding pavement. On the surface, the garden looks like a beautiful landscaped bed. Under the surface, plant roots are soaking up rain and releasing it into the air through their leaves. Two rain garden experts will deliver an in-class lesson on how to build and maintain your rain garden.
