The City of Prospect has honored a resident for her public service.
Linda J. Wardell received the 2011 Beach Craigmyle Public Service Award Jan. 10, an honor established to “recognize outstanding public service commitments to the City of Prospect.”
Wardell, an eight-year resident of Prospect, is the chair of Prospect’s Putney Pond and Woodlands advisory committee and served in two predecessor groups to that organization. She also participated as a key member of the Prospect Forestation Board’s 2008 public tree inventory.
Named after former Prospect mayor Beach Craigmyle, the honor has been bestowed on an annual basis for over 20 years.
Mayor Todd Eberle noted the countless volunteer hours Wardell has devoted to city projects, noting, “she has worked intelligently and diligently to organize their numerous initiatives over the years and sacrificed many of her weekends to work on trail construction and maintenance at our beautiful new natural area.”
