Project Guild of La Grange was founded in August 1964, with 14 young homemakers as charter members. The original purpose of the organization was to enable local residents to serve as assets to each other and to Oldham County.
The organization is best-known for its annual community celebration, Oldham County Day, launched by Project Guild in 1971. The event, always the third Saturday in July, is designed to celebrate community pride and to create fun for all ages, a reunion for classmates and neighbors, and a source of income for local charities and service organizations.
