Pewee Valley welcomes new council member

Pewee Valley council members braved snow and ice Jan. 20 to appoint Otis R. Florence as its newest member.
Florence replaces Dana Barrette who is relocating out of the city. Florence will assume the city’s insurance, finance and water quality reporting responsibilities, he said.
“I’m anxious to start and look forward to working with the city,” Florence said, adding that this is his first time in a public office.
Florence is the CEO and president of Business Brokers and Consultants Inc., which provides brokerage services for commercial and investment properties as well as intermediary, marketing and consulting services.
He is also the president and founder of Societas, which specializes in medical practice brokerage.
Florence is a member of Greater Louisville, Inc., and the Oldham County Chamber of Commerce.
He is also a member of Crestwood Baptist Church.
