The Pewee Valley branch of PNC Bank will close in February.

Bob Rogers, mayor of Pewee Valley, announced the closure Monday during Pewee’s monthly town council meeting.  PNC Bank is located on Ky. 146 in Pewee Valley near the Oldham-Jefferson border.

PNC spokesperson Fred Solomon said PNC will consolidate a number of branches, including several in Louisville, during the first quarter of 2010. At that time, all National City branches will be converted to PNC Bank branches. PNC acquired National City Dec. 31. The nearest National City branches are located in Crestwood and Forest Springs.

Customers will receive a notification letter 60 days before the changes take place, and PNC will redeploy affected employees to other branches.

Solomon said PNC typically consolidates branches that are less than a mile apart.
