With ever-increasing prices of food, fuel and housing foreclosures becoming more common, the last concern for some is, “What about my pet?” For many pet owners, it has become increasingly difficult to keep a pet fed and healthy, or even keep it at all.Barbara Rosenman, director of the Oldham County Animal Shelter, said several animals have been surrendered to the shelter’s care.Most residents surrender anonymously and animals are left on the doorstep. Sometimes, though, owners leave a note, Rosenman said.
