Members of Goshen Elementary School’s site-based decision-making council recently selected Lisa Peters as the school’s new principal.

Peters has accepted the position effective July 1.

Peters is currently assistant to the principal of Kenwood Station Elementary School. She has prior experience working as the literacy coach and also the instructional coordinator for Centerfield Elementary School for three years. Before relocating to Oldham County, Peters worked in Oklahoma, Nevada and Maryland as a classroom teacher and a reading resource teacher during a period of 18 years.

She served as assistant principal for two years in Charles County, Md.

Peters is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma and earned a master’s degree from McDaniel College in Maryland.

Oldham County Schools Superintendent Paul Upchurch said Peters demonstrates the administrative skills necessary to be a successful principal and leadership qualities that are critical to the Goshen Elementary School community.
